Residential — Alteration & Addition
This is not your classic restored cottage with a modern box on the back. Instead the extension sits comfortably with the existing character, whilst also being distinctly contemporary.
Beyond the original hall you arrive in a generous void space with a hand-crafted Oak stair case, a highlight window and skylight bring natural light into the middle of the house.
Lighting: Coco Flip Pendant - Cult
Flooring: European White Oak Timber - Oslek
We love how bright and airy the new house feels, as well as the client’s bold use of colour that makes the interiors really unique. The restored heritage features and the harmonious transition from old to new is also really successful.
It is a house that will evolve as the family grows, with separated living, parents and kid’s spaces.
The brief was for a bright family home that celebrated the original features of the house and had connections to the rear garden.
Large L-shaped pergola beams demarcate the edge of the decking and will overtime support greenery to grow over the pergola.
